STUDIO CITY >> Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of burglarizing nine restaurants in the Studio City area.
The suspects have been linked to burglaries that have occurred since September, with the last five occurring Wednesday, Feb. 14, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The suspects smash or break the front glass doors of closed restaurants in the early morning hours, targeting the cash registers,” according to a police statement.
The bandits are suspected of burglarizing:
• Two restaurants on Sept. 29, including one about 1 a.m. in the 4000 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and the other about 2 a.m. in the 4700 block of Vineland Avenue;
• One restaurant about 12:30 on Nov. 27 in the 4100 block of Lankershim Boulevard;
• Five restaurants last Wednesday, including one about midnight in the 10800 block of Riverside Drive, one about 12:20 a.m. in the 12100 block of Ventura Boulevard, one about 1:35 a.m., in the 12700 block of Ventura Boulevard, one about 1:45 a.m. in the 12700 block of Ventura Boulevard, and another about 3:40 a.m. in the 4300 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
“The suspects have been tied to similar burglaries throughout Southern California in which their images were captured on video,” police said.
Both suspects are described as black. One is 50 to 60 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighs 170 to 180 pounds. The other is about 40, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 200 to 240 pounds and has a large, unspecified tattoo on his left forearm.
