A 94-year-old woman died in a two-alarm fire at a home in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon, officials said.
Officials received a report of a fire at 1358 East 93rd Street, in Canarsie, around 2:57 p.m., the department said.
The 94-year-old woman was found unconscious in the basement of the home after the fire was extinguished, the NYPD said.
Another person and a firefighter both sustained minor injuries in the fire, according to the FDNY.
The fire doesn't appear to be suspicious, but an investigation is ongoing, according to police.
A family member of the woman who died said the fire may have started when a television in the basement exploded, but the FDNY hadn't determined the cause of the fire as of Saturday evening.
Officials didn't immediately release the name of the woman who died.
