Ackley Bridge is lining up an intense romance storyline for Nasreen Paracha – and this time it could be for keeps. But as she gets closer and closer to newcomer Sam Murgatroyd and falls for her, she makes a devastating discovery that could change everything.
Amy-Leigh Hickman, who plays Nas, recently revealed to Metro.co.uk that her character would get a genuine love interest – after a date with a footballer went nowhere and then she was catfished by her well meaning but misfiring mum!
She told us: You see Nas have a little bit more fun and loosen up a bit. She is becoming more comfortable with herself – she has to accept herself 100% before she tells everyone. You really see that progress – and further on in the story, she tries a few things out with dating that dont work out but someone comes into her life that is completely right for her and she ends up falling in love.

Megan Parkinson has joined the cast and her character Sam is openly gay. Feisty and not afraid to stand up for herself, Sam meets Nas by initially robbing her during a confrontational scene – but the girls soon find themselves instantly attracted to one another and things move fast.
But just as Nas is starting to think everything is going right this time, she is knocked by a discovery about Sams family.
An insider told Metro.co.uk: Sam confrontational and loud, not afraid to stand to stand up for herself, and theres immediate chemistry between her and Nas. But when Nas discovers more about Sams family and their background, shes heartbroken as it leaves them at odds and puts a real risk to their chance of a future.
Can the pair overcome this and make a go of a loving relationship?
