Alec Baldwin has quit as Bruce Waynes father Thomas from the upcoming The Joker movie.
The 60-year-old actor has revealed he has bowed out of taking on the role of Thomas Wayne, citing scheduling issues.
Speaking to USA TODAY, he confessed: I am no longer doing that movie.
He added: Im sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.
Alec was meant to join Joaquin Phoenix, whos set to play the title character, with Robert De Niro, and Glow actor Marc Maron also already cast.
It was claimed by the Hollywood Reporter that the script paints Thomas Wayne as a cheesy and tanned businessman who is more in the mold of a 1980s Donald Trump, perfect for Alec, who regularly parodies the President on SNL.
However, he took to Twitter to confirm he was not taking on the role.
Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips JOKER as some Donald Trump manque.
That is not happening.
Not.
