Alesso is urging his peers and fans to talk to each other following the death of Avicii.

The Swedish DJ, real name Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on 20 April this year. It was later reported that the 28-year-old took his own life.

Now, Alesso who described Aviciis tragic passing as a terrible loss has shared some moving advice for fans.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, following the release of his hit song Remedy, the 27-year-old said that one of the issues is that the younger generation is facing is the tendency to search for validation when discussing mental health issues with us.

He said: We live in a time where social media needs to look so good that we are hiding whats really going on in our lives.

I think that what everyone is searching for today is validation. People are searching for likes. People create this image to feel better about themselves when they are not really.

He added: People should ask themselves how they really feel. I think its obvious that it is a serious, serious issue because some of the [suicide] death rates are higher than ever, Ive heard.

I think the key is to talk to each other. Its pretty much, and I think, strange in a way because we are the first generation to get to experience this social media epidemic.

At the time of Aviciis death, Alesso paid tribute to him, writing on Instagram: Its a terrible, terrible loss, not just for the dance music world – I think the whole world knew who Avicii was.

While sharing a picture of the two together, he wrote on Twitter: I wish I could have said a few last words to you before you left this place. Millions of people will remember you forever.

The Swedish DJ also noted that his generation would be the first to raise kids in this new age of technology as the single Remedy now has more than 150 million combined audio and video streams.

We are the first to try it and to see how it affects us. We will probably be the first ones to understand and to teach our children what it can do and regulate it for them somehow, he concluded on the matter.

The Let Me Go artist, who recently released a video with internet sensation Rudy Mancuso, has also successfully tapped into the thriving YouTube community.

Speaking of the platforms community, he said: Its nice to see how the world of YouTube and the internet in general, how it works. They are literally changing the world with the internet with how entertainment works.

Speaking of Rudy, who directed Remedy which sits at 43 million views on YouTube, he said: Not only is he the most talented person but he directed movies and directed my new music video and its doing so well and its got 40 million views already.

We are like a family. What we do is help each other out.
