Amanda Bynes wants some of the credit for Channing Tatums career.

Because The Amanda Show actress fought to get him cast alongside her in 2006s Shes The Man, before he was famous.

In her Break The Internet interview with Paper magazine, the 32-year-old explained how she put in the groundwork for the Step Up star, 38.

I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie because he wasnt famous yet, she recalled.

Hed just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, “This guys a star — every girl will love him!”

While Shes The Man (2006) was the making of Channing, Amanda says it was her downfall

[The producers] were like, “Hes so much older than all of you!” And I was like, “It doesnt matter! Trust me!”

Channing played soccer hunk Duke, who became the object of her character Violas affections when she went undercover at her brothers elite boarding school.

Shortly after he starred in the rom-com, Channing appeared as the lead in Step Up – which was arguably the making of the Magic Mike actor.

Whereas Amanda now says the film contributed to her highly-publicised downfall, sending her into a deep depression from the moment she watched it back on screens.

When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for four-six months because I didnt like how I looked when I was a boy. Ive never told anyone that.

She announced her retirement from acting after filming Easy A four years later and a downward spiral drink and drugs rendered her a completely different person.
