EXCLUSIVE: Norwegian actor Anders Danielsen Lie, star of Paul Greengrasss upcoming thriller Norway and Netflix series Nobel, has joined Greta Gerwig, John Turturro and Mia Wasikowska in the cast of Mia Hansen-Løves Bergman Island, I can reveal.

Shoot is due to get underway on July 16 in Farö (the remote island in Sweden where Ingmar Bergman lived and filmed) on the CG Cinema-produced drama, which Kinology will launch foreign sales on in Cannes. UTA is handling the U.S. Also new to the team is Call Me By Your Name and Frances Ha producer Rodrigo Teixeira from RT Features.

Festival favourite Hansen-Løve (Eden) wrote and will direct the film about Tony and Chris, an American couple, both artists and filmmakers, who head to the Island of Farö to take part in Ingmar Bergman celebration event Bergman Week during which they hope to complete the writing of their new movie. But over the course of the summer their relationship starts to fissure as the frontier separating their life and the fiction they are writing starts to blur.

Mustang and Personal Shopper producer Charles Gillibert of CG Cinema, Hansen-Løves regular collaborator, is producing with Teixeira. Co-producers are Erik Hemmendorff from Plattform in Sweden (The Square), Dietmar Güntsch from Bioskop in Germany, Geneviève Lemal from Scope in Belgium and Julio Chavezmontes from Somospiano in Mexico. Les films du Losange will distribute in France.

In 2016 Hansen-Løve won the Silver Bear for Best Director in Berlin with her fifth directorial effort Things To Come. Her second film, Father Of My Children, debuted at Cannes in Un Certain Regard and won the Special Jury Prize.

CG Cinema will be in Cannes with Competition entry Knife + Heart by French director Yann Gonzalez and Long Days Journey Into Night by Chinese director Bi Gan, which will play in Un Certain Regard. Kinologys slate includes much-anticipated closing movie The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
