DCs Aquaman has broken a record in advance ticket sales previously held by Marvels Avengers: Infinity War.
Starring Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman, DC is hoping to triumph over the festive box office with its aquatic superhero blockbuster – which is packing incredible special effects judging by early trailers.
It seems marketing has worked its trick, with Aquaman having become Atom Tickets highest-ever advance ticket seller in the first 24 hours.
According to Deadline, this topples Avengers: Infinity Wars previous record, with the ticket sales incorporating those sold to special early screenings for Amazon Prime users.

Aquamans first day presales on Fandango are also outpacing those of Mission: Impossible Fallout and Venom, so it seems like its at least bound for initial success.
A recent new trailer showed Jason Momoa rocking Aquamans classic costume, along with showcasing its impressive ensemble cast with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe and Dolph Lundgren.
Considering DCs entire cinematic universe is mostly pinned on the success of Wonder Woman, well have to hope Aquaman can become the second reason for the Justice League to exist.
Aquaman is set to be released in UK cinemas on 14 December 2018.
