Arsenal have removed the final trace of Alexis Sanchez from the club after taking down the banner celebrating the Chilean and his two dogs that hung inside the Emirates.

Sanchez completed his move to Manchester United on Monday in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the other way in a straight swap.

The Armenian was at the Emirates on Wednesday night for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash with Chelsea, though he is ineligible for the match and will be presented to fans at half-time.

He will have to wait until the midweek Premier League matches to make his debut due to Arsenal having been knocked out of the FA Cup already, though Sanchez is in line to play against Yeovil on Friday.

And Arsenal have moved quickly to rid the Emirates of all images of Sanchez, with the banner dedicated to his two dogs – Atom and Humber – the last reminder to be removed.

Sanchez has already changed the allegiances of his best friends, posting a series of pictures on Instagram of his two canine pals wearing United shirts with his name and number on the back.

Atom and Humber achieved almost cult-like status at Arsenal, hence the banner, and Sanchez will hope that Old Trafford can take his two dogs to heart in the same manner.

They were pictured entering The Lowry Hotel on Tuesday, where Sanchez is currently residing after making the move from London to Manchester.
