Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant is giving back to his hometown by donating $10 million to help Prince George’s County students go to college.
Durant partnered with Prince George’s County Public Schools and College Track in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, a program that helps disadvantaged students attend college, according to The Washington Post.
The 10-year program supports students beginning in ninth grade through college graduation, helping them to prepare for and deal with academic, financial and social stresses of college. College Track plans to open this year locally as the Durant Center, The Washington Post reports. It is one of the first three College Track facilities in the D.C. area.
