Two vehicles crashed head-on early Sunday in Amityville, killing three people, police said.
A wrecked BMW sport utility vehicle and a Toyota were seen at the crash scene at Oak Street and Belmont Court. The Toyota has since been towed away.
Alex Demetrius, 27, of Nesconset, was driving the BMW X5 on Oak Street when he crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, Suffolk County police said.
The driver of the Toyota Carolla, Joseph Cloonan, 65, and his son, John Cloonan, 34, also died in the crash, police said. The Carollas lived on Staten Island.
