The film doesnt have a director – and now it risks losing the release date, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bond 25 will reportedly miss the November 2019 release in North America, potentially causing it to open in 2020 instead.

The publication claims the latest James Bond film has hit stumbling blocks after the departure of director Danny Boyle, who exited on creative differences just three months before shooting.

Originally, the film was slated for release in the UK on October 25, 2019 but Variety believes a domino effect could be set into motion during pre-production, thanks to disagreements over Boyles script.

According to the movie site, there has been a simultaneous call for a new screen-writer while a replacement for director Boyle is brought on board.

While the production companies agree on the script and the new director, the schedule of shooting locations may become dislodged.

Filming was supposed to begin this December but to avoid missing the November release date, shooting would need to begin in January 2019 at the latest.

If missed, its looking more likely that the release date will be pushed to summer 2020 – though a Bond film has never opened in the summer – or postponed for a whole year.

Boyles stepping down was announced in Twitter on the official James Bond account this week.

The tweet read: Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25.

Who these creative differences are between is not known.
