BTS have confirmed they will be unable to contribute to a Michael Jackson tribute song in celebration of what would have been the legends 60th birthday.
Jerry L Greenberg, the former president of Jacksons label MJJ Music, personally invited the K-pop superstars to participate in the planned tribute song for MJs birthday on 29 August.
However, scheduling issues mean that RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook will be unable to perform on the track.
BTSs agency BigHit Entertainment said: BTS recently received a request [to participate in] a tribute song for Michael Jackson. It is a great honour to have even received this request.
However, it is unfortunately difficult for the group to participate as their album is being released soon and they have concerts for their world tour ahead.

Greenberg confirmed he invited artists including BTS and Luhan to join the special tribute in a video announcement, saying: Michael continues to influence artists from around the world, so Ive invited some of the biggest global artists to take part in this very special project, including BTS and Luhan from China, among others.
My hope is to keep Michaels legacy alive, for many generations to come, and this project celebrates Michaels global contribution to music and dance.

While it is disappointing that we wont hear the boys on the track, its hardly surprising that they are too busy to participate.
BTS are releasing a repackaged version of their smash hit album Love Yourself: Tear called Love Yourself: Answer on 24 August.
The album – the fourth and final installment of the Love Yourself series – will feature seven new tracks from the band.
And after this, their world tour will kick off on 25 August in Seoul, South Korea, before making its way to the UK in October.
