BTS member Jin, real name Kim Seok-jin, left a recording of South Korean music show Inkigayo on Sunday after learning the heartbreaking news that his grandmother had passed away.
After the pre-recording for SBS Inkigayo today, BTSs Jin quickly left after receiving the news that his maternal grandmother has passed away, the banfs agency Big Hit Entertainment confirmed on Twitter.
We express our apologies to fans as he was unable to complete the broadcast, they concluded, adding: Rest in peace.
It is thought Jin has now returned to his family to mourn their loss.
Jin, 25, is the oldest member of BTS and was born in Anyang in the Gyeonggi Province.
It is not yet known if Jin will travel to the US for the bands upcoming 12 June appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
BTS appeared on show last year, performing their song DNA and playing a game of Flinch but James confirmed on 9 June that the seven-piece will be back, sharing a selfie with RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jungkook, Jimin, V and Jin and wrote: On June 12th.
