Phenomenal K-pop boy band BTS kicked off their new Love Yourself World Tour over weekend and have revealed the theme behind their new album Love Yourself: Answer.
BTS started the concert a day after they released their new album Love Yourself: Answer on 24 August, which contains 25 tracks (26 in the digital release) including the carrier song IDOL. A version of IDOL features Nicki Minaj.
Based on initial reports, the album topped iTunes in 65 countries including the UK, US and Canada while IDOL became No. 1 in 66 countries.
In a press conference, BTS explained the theme of their new album.
According to RM, the overall theme of Love Yourself: Answer is festival.
When you think of a festival, its preparations take place for a very long time, but the festival itself terminates very quickly in a very brief moment and leaves behind tons of garbage, as our concert does, said RM, according to Yonhap News.

He explained that life is the same as a festival. Happiness lasts for fleeting moments, leaving behind some snapshot images of the moments.
So the final conclusion to (the theme) Love Yourself should eventually be a festival. After grappling with many questions, we wanted to draw the message that (we should) enjoy life and seize the fleeting (happy) moments, RM said.
In the music video for IDOL, BTS showed a mixture of South African dance style Gwara Gwara and traditional Korean dance moves and performed against graphics of Eurasian architectural art, the African Savanna and displays of the traditional Korean lion dance.
Suga explained that incorporating Korean elements in the music video was not intentional.
It wasnt that in this album we wanted to demonstrate things Korean because we have done so well so far (in the world). The feel we wanted to show is that of a festival that brings together people of difference races, sexes, ages, he said.
This album was produced with a sense that we want to unburden ourselves (of pressure) and play and enjoy with fans like at a party.
Suga refuted observations that BTS became globally famous because of social media, saying: I am sorry about it and can say for sure, its wrong.
He said their success can be attributed to the combination of infusing messages in their music coupled and stage performances.
Regarding BTS contract renewal with Big Hit Entertainment, Jin explained: We are currently having many discussions among ourselves and with the company and think we can give you good news in the near future.
