If you were doubtful that Captain Marvel would be anything other than badass, this poster will erase those fears.

A new poster for the blockbuster has been revealed ahead of the second trailer drop, and Brie Larson is all kinds of powerful in the one-sheet.

The new poster, unveiled on Twitter, shows Brie – who plays Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers – in her classic blue, red and gold suit, which is radiating glowing lightning.

While the poster doesnt give us much new detail, it continues the trend of seriously cool Marvel posters, with this one exuding colour and power.

Considering Danvers punched a granny in the first trailer, we have high hopes.

The synopsis for Captain Marvel, which is set for release in March 2019, is as follows: Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universes most powerful heroes.

While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

The movie stars Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, while Jude Law, Lee Pace, Gemma Chan, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounso, Lashana Lynch and Annette Benning are also in the cast.

Its the start of a big week for Marvel fans, as the long-awaited trailer for Avengers 4 is believed to be dropping this Wednesday.

To which we say – its about time.
