A familiar face will return to the BBC on a regular basis, as former EastEnders star Shaheen Jafargholi joins Casualty.
Shaheen will be playing Marty, a new ED nurse with a razor sharp wit. Marty soon discovers that his job requires more than a cheeky wink and a clever one liner.
We are delighted that Shaheen is joining the cast of Casualty, Lucy Raffety, the shows series producer said.
He is a huge talent with such a warm screen presence and we know he will bring so much to the show.
Shaheen previously played Shakil Kazemi on EastEnders. His exit storyline saw the popular character die in a dramatic stabbing. EastEnders included the real life stories of knife crime victims alongside the episode revolving around Shakils funeral.
The soap won praise for how it handled the sensitive storyline.
