Chelsea have agreed a £57.2 million fee with Roma to sign Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.
The Premier League champions have already strengthened their squad this month with the arrival of Ross Barkley in a £15m deal from Everton.
But Antonio Conte is keen to add another striker to his side, as well as a player capable of challenging Marcos Alonso for a place on the left flank.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea have now reached an agreement over a transfer with Roma and are now continuing negotiations with Dzeko.
The report claims that Chelsea will pay £44m plus add-ons worth £13.2m for both players.
Dzeko has not yet agreed a contract with the Premier League champions and is reportedly seeking assurances over the amount of playing time he will get with Alvaro Morata in the team.
Chelsea are also ready to break their own club rule by offering the former Manchester City striker a contract which runs until 2020. Currently, the club only offer one-year extensions to their players who are over 30.

Dzeko, who was last season’s top scorer in Serie A with 29 goals, turns 32 in March.
Palmieri, meanwhile, has agreed to join Chelsea and the Brazilian’s transfer is more of a formality.
Should Chelsea secure a deal for Dzeko, Michy Batshuayi will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan.
