A year and a half on from Chris Cornells death, his son Christopher has portrayed him in the music video for song When Bad Does Good.

The 12-year-old plays a young Chris delivering newspapers on his bike in the video for the previously unreleased track from the late Soundgarden and Audioslave singer.

The clip, which has been directed by music video legend Kevin Kerslake, is a tribute to Cornells life.

His son Christopher said: For me this video represents my dad and all the art he created throughout his life and what his music meant then and what it means now, not just to me and my family but the city of Seattle and all of his fans.

Kerslake added: I wanted to highlight an aspect of Chris talents often overshadowed by his more obvious virtues (e.g., his monstrous guitar chops, operatic vocal range or commanding physical presence), which is his place as one of this generations greatest lyricists….but do it within a specific context that turned a simple, straightforward journey through the streets of Seattle into a eulogy, of sorts, with mystical undertones.

Cornell died by suicide in a Detroit hotel room last May, shortly after performing at a Soundgarden concert.

His wife Vicky Karayiannis has since said that Cornells doctors should never have prescriped the drugs she believes eventually led to his suicide.

Appearing on Good Morning America, she said: Approximately a year before he died, he was prescribed a benzodyazapine to help him sleep.

He had torn his shoulder and he had complained that the pain in the shoulder was waking up.

In retrospect Ive learned, its not supposed to be given to anyone in recovery and if you have to give it, they have to be closely monitored and it should not be given for more than two-three weeks.

Following his death, fans and famous friends praised Cornell for his talent.

Axl Rose previously declared him as the best vocalist in rock while Alice Cooper he is a true legacy of rock and roll.
