Black Panther is the only movie that anyone can talk about at the moment, and is it any wonder with the all the block buster action and record-breaking moments?
But in amongst all the coverage and the hype about T’Challa and Wakanda taking over – which FYI they are, Wakanda forver – one of Marvel Studio’s biggest stars, Chris Evans, let slip that the movie everyone wants made next is happenin
While we all know that Brie Larson is going to be taking on the mantle of Captain Marvel, fans of the MCU have been crying out for a Black Widow film for years (ever since she first appeared on screen in Iron Man 2 in 2010).
That said it looks as though Natasha Romanov will get her chance to stand front and centre in the spotlight, that is according to Chris Evans.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada over the weekend, the 36-year-old Captain America star seemingly confirmed that the film is green lit and happening.
Talking about the hype and anticipation around Black Panther he let slip: ‘I’m sure it’s going to have the exact same affect when Captain Marvel comes out and then when Black Widow movie comes out. Marvel have the winning recipe.’
Oops.
But seemingly not at all phased that he’s let the cat out of the bag, as there was only the tiniest of inkling that Marvel were pursuing the idea, with Variety reporting Jac Schaeffer had been tapped up to pen a script.
More: Marvel
There was previously no talk of the movie being green lit, but it looks as though Chris, who recently helped celebrate Marvel Studio’s 10th birthday, knows something the rest of us don’t – which is perfectly feasible.
Speaking about Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and its latest ground-breaking addition, he said: ‘I was looking at the news about the Black Panther openings around the country this weekend and it’s just going to crush… Marvel know what they’re doing and they just find great people, and I feel very privileged to be a part of it.’
