Coronation Street is lining up a tense night time showdown for Tyrone Dobbs and his acid tongued grandmother Evelyn Plummer and once again, the police are set to become involved in their escapades.
Tyrone, along with Roy Cropper, will already have felt the long arm of the law during a mishap laden hunt for Evelyns missing dog Cerberus – which at one point, leads an officer to believe that Roy and Evelyn our out for a touch of winter dogging!
In upcoming scenes, which were filmed in the harsh cold of a December night, Tyrone will head to check on Evelyn, who is lodging with a kind hearted disabled man named James. Hoping that his grandmother is coping okay in her new surroundings, Tyrone creeps about in the darkness, hiding in the bushes.

As he watches, concerned neighbours call the police and Tyrone is apprehended over concerns that he may be a stalker or a pervert. Tyrone makes out that he is just searching for his nans cat and starts calling its name – Keith.
And he might have gotten away with it if it werent for Evelyn. She comes out to confront the ruckus and quickly makes it clear to the police officer that she doesnt have a cat – Tyrone is lying!

Mortified, how will Tyrone explain this one? And will he end up being arrested for apparently behaving inappropriately in the bushes? First dogging and now this – it never ends when Evelyn is around!
As Evelyn heads back in with James, viewers will see her make a kind gesture by offering to buy him a Euro rail ticket. This seems vastly out of character for cold hearted Evelyn so are there ulterior motives at play here?
It remains to be seen what Evelyn is up to and whether the police will have to become involved again.
Maureen Lipman and Alan Halsall were making the best of their night shoot as they were seen laughing hysterically between takes. Who said Corrie doesnt do comedy anymore?
The scenes will air next year.
