Keeping secrets is quite the skill of Henry Newton – the sleazy heir to the Newton and Ridley fortune who once broke Gemma Winters heart by using her for a bet with his mate in Coronation Street. And since he returned and wooed her again with the promise of the key to the Rovers, it seems that he is hiding something all over again.

Gemma has been making excited plans for the pub and even had a trial day managing the boozer which went down a storm due to her personable customer service and her cocktail deals. But when the time comes for Leanne Tilsley and Toyah Battersby to hand over the premises to Henry and Gemma, they are concerned when Peter Barlow points out that Henry hasnt actually signed the contract.

Gemmas dreams are wrecked when Henry makes a staggering confession to her before then begging Gemma for another chance. But will she believe his explanation or is it all over for them? With Toyah desperate to sell up and Johnny and Jenny Connor also interested, Gemma will soon discover that she no longer has a chance to get the place.

And for goodness sake, steer clear of saying: I told you so!
