Gemma Winter is about to get a blast from her past as she comes face to face with her brother in Coronation Street – but viewers will recognise him too as we have actually met him before.
Cast your minds back to when David Platt was in the slammer after launching a frenzied attack on Gary Windass. When his cellmate Paul tried to wake him for breakfast, David snapped and pinned him against the wall in a temper.
Well, it turns out that Paul is actually Gemmas brother so when he turns up on the cobbles following his release from prison, he will have some catching up to do with both his sister and his former cellmate – but will either of them be glad to see him?

Gemma has been a bit of a closed book when it comes to her family so it is unknown at this stage whether she will be glad to reunite with her sibling or whether they have a fraught relationship.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: Weve already had a little taster of what Pauls about and it was pretty clear that hed been in prison before when he shared a cell with David.
So its going to be interesting to see what he makes of Gemmas new life in Weatherfield. Shes managed to escape her past and is enjoying a nice life. Her brother turning up is going to certainly shake things up for her.
Peter Ash will reprise his role as troublesome Paul following his introductory appearance back in May. He is set to make his return on screen in January.
