David Platt is finally coming out the other side of his traumatic year in Coronation Street. Having slowly begun to come to terms with his rape ordeal, it looks like the gloom is set to lift and happier times are ahead.
Earlier this year, David was sexually assaulted by Josh after he was drugged, and has since been coming to terms with what happened to him.
But theres light at the end of the tunnel as actor Jack P Shepherd has revealed David is set for brighter times ahead.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Jack revealed: Its been a hell of a year for David.

But hes a lot happier now and hes got through it with the help of his family.
Things are going to be happier for David, so Im told.

The actor also added that he is happy with how the storyline has played out for David, after he was given the opportunity to hand Josh over to the police for what he did but ultimately decided to let him go free.
Jack said: This sent him in the right direction and he can now speak about the attack.
It was the right ending because David couldnt do anything with the police because there was no evidence.
He became the bigger man by dealing with Josh himself.
