Coronation Street spoilers: Ken Barlow makes a huge decision as he discovers Sineads cervical cancer tragedy

Ken makes a decision in Coronation Street

Ken Barlow is about to be placed in an impossible situation in Coronation Street when he discovers that Sinead has been diagnosed with cervical cancer – but she swears him to secrecy, meaning he cant tell his own son Daniel about what his pregnant wife is facing.

Sinead recently married Daniel in a surprise pagan wedding and pledged to put her baby first no matter what – meaning that she would be prepared to put her own life on the line and avoid treatment which would put a risk to her pregnancy or mean she would have to have a termination.

Daniel remains in the dark and is excited about the future for himself and his new wife and their baby. But Sinead is hiding a desperate secret and struggling on her own.

When Daniel is offered a place on a Masters course, he feels the time is not right but Sinead insists he takes it as she cant bear to ruin his education.

But at the hospital, Sinead gets the diagnosis she has been fearing and is advised to consider a termination. She leaves the consultation and bursts into tears and Ken finds her in a state, prompting her to open up about what is going on. Ken is floored by the tragic news and instinctively wants to tell Daniel but Sinead begs him not to.

As Sinead explains that she doesnt want Daniel to be in the position of having to choose between her and the baby, will Ken agree to keep quiet? Or will Daniel discover the devastating truth?
