As one of the suspects in the disaster which killed Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia), Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) is looking awfully shifty – especially after he swore to destroy Carla Connor (Alison King) ahead of the roof caving in.
Viewers already know that Carla will go missing due to her guilt pushing her mental health to the limit. Carla blames herself for the tragedy – and she isnt the only one as the evidence mounts against her given that she ignored warnings about the factory roof needing replaced.
But a lineup of suspects has revealed that someone sabotaged the structure deliberately and with Robert having already made dire threats to Carla and then going missing amid the scene of the disaster before later skulking back, he is sure to be raising serious suspicions.
With Carla heading over the edge and suffering a breakdown, Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) is left utterly frantic as she disappears and recent pictures showed him being arrested as he raided a hovel to try and find her.
