Weve got word that there might be the most incredible Marvel X DC crossover happening soon.
NO, we are not talking about Jared Leto landing the role of Morbius (were still coming to terms with that casting decision).
What were talking about is Lewis Tan of Deadpool 2/Iron Fist fame being lined-up to play Dick Grayson in the Nightwing movie.
Well… hes not officially being lined-up, but all signs actually point to him potentially being lined-up. And, its not like the 31-year-old actor has any objections.
I know Chris McKay wants a martial artist, so thats out there, he told the Hashtag show recently. Hes following me on Twitter… Theres a lot of good juju vibes out there for that. Nothing that I can say that is confirmed.
This [Nightwing] is a project that hes still developing, and I sat down with DC – with some of the executives at DC – and theyre big fans. Im a big fan, obviously.

My father came to America because of Batman and I definitely want to see that come full circle and give back. Im not trading in my Marvel roots – because they started me – but DC started my dad, so it would be nice to go over there and play around and find the right thing.
Were pretty sure this is a subtle I really, really need someone to give me this role .
And he didnt stop with the big sell there.
Speaking about the benefits of casting a martial artist as Nightwing – a character famed for his mastery of various martial arts and acrobatics – Lewis said it would make things a lot more convincing.
When youre a martial artist and youre doing an action show, you can do so much more, he explained.
You dont have to cut around the actor, you dont have to hide the actor, and the performance alone is going to show so much more – because its all you and youre all there and youre putting your blood, sweat, and physicality into the role.
As it is director Chris McKay hasnt really let anything slip about the film, and has even slapped down prior speculation about casting.
The last real update he gave was back in February when he tweeted: Hi! Some early VDay news: Nightwing script expected very soon. Working on rip-o-matic to show studio. This is going to be a LONG process. So dont expect casting news any time soon. We are taking our time. Expect big things from DC, Geoff Johns and WB team! Exciting year ahead!! He tweeted.

Since then… not a lot.
More: Batman
As it is, Lewis would be a great addition to the DCEU given his standout performance alongside Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2, that and it would mark a milestone for Warner Bros and the team behind the DC films given that he would be the first Asian male actor to land a starring role in the expanded comic book universe.
Its worth noting that Lewis has been hugely grateful for the push and support hes received since the interview got out there, but just to clarify…
Hey guys, I love all the support but to clarify what I said in the interview, I met with DC but not specifically for that project. I love Nightwing and if the chance came I would love to show what I would do with the character
