Director Paul King is reported to be in talks with Disney over the live remake of the classic 1940’s Disney Classic Pinocchio.
Already hailed for his work on the two critically acclaimed Paddington movies, Paul is reportedly the film company’s favourite choice according to Variety, after Bond Director Sam Mendes dropped out of the project last year.
The British writer and director seems to be a hit with a number of entertainment companies at the moment, as the BAFTA Award nominee has also been linked to the Warner Bros. adaptation of Willy Wonka.

Writer Chris Weitz has been enlisted for the new Pinocchio film as both a writer and producer, alongside Andrew Miano who is also set to produce the the flick.
Pinocchio tells the story of wood-maker Geppetto whose wish for his puppet Pinocchio to come alive is granted by the Blue Fairy. As Geppetto gets his wish under the guise of a falling star, Pinocchio must prove that he can be brave, truthful and unselfish in order for him to be turned into a real boy.
Pinocchio fans may have their pick of the bunch as entertainment company Warner Bros. is also reported to have bagged Guillermo del Toro, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller for their own adaptation of the popular fairy tale.
The Pinocchio remake follows previous Disney reboots including The Jungle Book and Beauty And The Beast which saw British actress Emma Watson play Belle.
Other much loved Disney classics in line for a live action revamp include Mulan, The Lion King, Winnie The Pooh and Aladdin.
