Oh, Dwayne – youve done it again.
Wrestler, action movie star and all-round nice fella Dwayne The Rock Johnson has been up to plenty of good recently, with the actor taking some time out to honour one of his closest colleagues and friends.
Tanoai Reed – who is also the cousin of The Rock – has been working as Johnsons stunt double since The Scorpion King in 2002, and it seems like hes quite literally put his body on the line for the actor over the years.
Over the course of my career, my stunt double has broken multiple bones, severed tendons, torn ligaments and just been an overall dominating bad-ass achieving several “Stuntman of the Year” honours, Johnson wrote on Instagram.
All done with one goal in mind – [to] deliver the best movie possible to the world.
To thank him for his work, Johnson arranged a little surprise for Reed in the form of a brand new pick-up truck – which he revealed to the stunt man during a short filmed clip.

As youll see the moment I put my hands on my hips, thats the drivers cue to pull away and reveal the big surprise, Johnson explained about the big reveal of the surprise gift.
Not only does Tanoai represent our family and my career with relentless commitment and passion, he also represents an entire Hollywood stunt community that is truly the backbone of our business.
Reeds must be a pretty sore backbone after all those stunts – better hope that pick-up truck has some nice padded seats for him to recline in…
