Mick Carter had a lot to chat about in tonights episode of EastEnders after a day of Brexit meltdowns in the Tory party and the step closer to the World Cup final for England. And Mick reckons he knows who should really have replaced David David as Brexit Minister – Gareth Southgate and his waistcoat would have sorted it aahhht.
The real world has had a Thick Of It vibe as David Davis resigned from his post followed closely by Boris Johnson, who stepped down from his role as Foreign Secretary. However, it was moving so fat, that even the very current EastEnders was unable to keep up as Boris goodbye came too late in the day to get the Danny Dyer treatment.
Putting the world to rights as he cooked breakfast, he told Shirley his proposed battle plan for the upcoming semi-final with Croatia before gloating that he told them all that it was coming home.

He then turned to talk about the upheaval in the cabinet and suggested that the England Manager should step into the role after England win the World Cup. As Shirley laughed, he then referenced Southgates waistcoats, saying they were closely matched to his own.
Its the second time that EastEnders has gone topical in recent episodes as last week, Mick talked about the penalty shootout in a recent England match.
Just imagine what Mick will be saying if it actually does come home. At least he was a bit easier on David Davis that Danny was when he was talking about David Cameron…
