EastEnders reveals Ben's exit storyline as the police come calling?

Ben Mitchell is set to be left wondering what Phil has gotten himself into in EastEnders when the police come calling – but will he involve himself to liberate his dad and end up facing a heavy penalty himself?

Viewers saw Phil abandoned by Aidan Maguire after they dug up a grave and found the money gone and as sirens from police cars blared out, it looked like the game was up. We can’t reveal whether Phil was taken into custody but as the police investigate suspicious activity in the area (now there’s an understatement), Ben and Jay are intrigued to be shown a picture of Aidan.

If Phil is indeed facing a long stretch inside, Ben would want to jump into action and track down Aidan – but this could land him in serious danger as we know that Aidan is capable of serious stuff.

The worrying thing is that we know Harry Reid is soon to leave the show as Ben so this seems connected to the character’s exit. The chances of a happy ending for the character are therefore slim if he is getting involved in this mess.

Meanwhile, location pictures showing Tamzin Outhwaite filming saw her working with Harry so when Mel Owen arrives back this week, will Ben be involved? A trailer recently saw someone arriving at the Arches and coming face to face with Mel and with Ciara having seemingly instructed her home, the pieces are all fitting together.

Might Aidan’s ex Ciara use Ben and Mel to bring down Aidan? And can they save Phil while they’re at it?

It’s going to be an interesting week in Walford.
