As New Years Eve hits, Linda is upset that Mick has booked the wrong band to perform in The Vic. Tensions are rising between the two, and she becomes even more hurt and angry when he offers her minimal help during the preparations, and it dawns on her hes forgotten its their anniversary the next day. Will Mick realise in time to surprise his wife and show her how much he loves her? If not, he could be hammering that nail into the coffin.
The new year arrives and the two try hard to keep their relationship on track but they are plagued with interruptions and things sent to test them, particularly when something goes wrong during the preparations for Mels wedding.

But the big test comes when Linda tries to get intimate with Mick. All he can think about is what she had to do to get Stuart to confess, and he feels too awkward about the whole situation. Making excuses, he avoids getting close to her. Whereas for Linda, she has stopped at nothing to get her husband home and now he can barely be alone with her.
