EastEnders fans had better brace themselves for another festive tragedy in Walford as Shane Richie has dropped the biggest hint yet that someone could die in the big episode – as someone in the Slater household is left with blood on their hands. But whose life is in danger and who has a major secret to cover up?
Alfie Moon was hoping to give Kat a Christmas to remember and he certainly does that – but for all the wrong reasons. As he pulls out all of the stops, the day starts off great and Alfie puts the next stage of winning her back into action. However, when he then makes a shocking discovery, its the first of many tensions and it is all set to culminate in Kat learning the horrifying truth that her husband is the father of Hayleys baby.
As Kats whole world falls apart, its just the beginning of the disaster and events spiral out of control in a major way – with violent and devastating consequences.
Shane told Metro.co.uk: Without giving too much away, this is a tough one to come back from, after you see what happens. Someones got blood on their hands is all Im saying.

There is such a big shock on Xmas Day. Obviously I cant tell you, but even when I read it I went “Oh, you cant do that, you cant do that, weve tipped it over the edge now.” Its just a real, massive cliffhanger on Xmas Day. I will be so intrigued to see the reaction on social media with shock and how everything plays out after that.
Only on Christmas Day could this happen. Why anyone would want to live in Walford I have no idea. But yeah, Christmas Day is massive and Ive been privileged enough to see some of it.
In the wake of the events, the Slater family is torn apart, potentially forever. And Shane does wonder if this could be the end for Alfie.
He pondered: I dont think theres ever a time that Alfies left with nothing, hell always have something, and hell always find a way out of any mess that either hes created or hes walked into. This is a tough one to get out of.
Whatever happens, it guarantees to be unmissable television – and Shane explained that there is just something special about the EastEnders Christmas Day episode.
He smiled: Gone are the days when I was first in the show, people would rush back to EastEnders. Now they record it and they watch it in their own time. But theres something about EastEnders on Christmas Day, even if its on in the background, its a bit like the Queens speech, its become like a staple diet for Christmas Day, even for friends of mine who dont watch it.
Stephen Fry made a joke about “I dont watch EastEnders but its on in the background on Christmas Day”, a bit like the Queens speech you know. So I will be watching. I will be seeing what the reaction is on the night.
