Walt Disney Pictures have released a photo of their upcoming sequel Mary Poppins Returns, and it looks adorable.
One might say it looks supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
The three new Banks kids can be seen looking very uncertain on a bicycle ride, but Mary Poppins – played by the flawless Emily Blunt – looked very in her comfort zone perched on the end of a ladder.
Clad in the famous nanny’s equally famous uniform of long overcoat and smart hat, we’re now even more excited about the modern interpretation of the 1964 classic.
Rob Marshall is directing the latest film and will be working from a script by David Magee that draws on material from Travers’ Poppins novels.
So hopefully it’s got a lot of the traditional storylines we’ve come to love.
Featuring Blunt and Grammy award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (AKA the genius behind Broadway smash musical Hamilton), the film is set in the 1930s – as opposed to the original that was set in 1910 – and will introduce three new Banks children.
In the story, our beloved Michael and Jane are all grown up with children of their own, and after Michael suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins re-enters their lives.
She helps the children, who are played by Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and Joel Dawson, rediscover the joy and wonder that is missing in their lives.
Blunt will be supported by Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as Michael and Jane, Meryl Streep as Poppin’s eccentric cousin Topsy, Colin Firth as banker William Weatherall Wilkins, and Julie Walters as the Banks housekeeper.

The original Bert from the 1964 movie, Dick Van Dyke will also be returning.
Here’s hoping for a Julie Andrews appearance!
The movie is planned for a Christmas Day cinema release this year.
