Ross Barton has been struggling to hold things together in Emmerdale since being left permanently scarred both physically and emotionally by an acid attack – and since then, Debbie Dingle has been hiding the guilty secret that she played no small part in what happened by instructing Simon to mess up Joe Tate.
Since returning to the village, Ross has hit self destruct and his brother Pete has worried about him – especially when he declined to have a skin graft upon hearing that it would never fully heal the scarring and would involve pain.
As Ross shuts himself away, Cain hears that he had a go at Debbie but while he comes round with the intention of having it out with Ross aggressively, he soon realises that Ross needs his support, not his fury.
The pair have a heart to heart and Ross opens up about the fact that Moses is frightened of him. Determined to coax Ross out of the house, Cain deploys tough love and Ross nervously emerges.
But how will Moses react to him and can Ross make some real progress? And will watching how much he is struggling prompt Debbie to finally come clean about what she did?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Wednesday 7th March at 7pm on ITV.
