Its a day that no parent should ever face but Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk are forced to say goodbye to their daughter Grace in heartbreaking Emmerdale scenes tonight. Since the loss of their newborn baby, Paddy has taken control of funeral preparations and has confided in Aaron and Faith that he is blocking out his own feelings so he can ensure Chas gets through the day.
Chas is a husk of herself, grieving her terrible loss but also worrying about the impact this is having on Paddy. Tonight, she shares her worries with Cain about how much Paddy has taken on to ensure that Grace gets the send off she deserves.

As the time comes, Paddy and Chas bravely step out, with Paddy tenderly carrying the basket containing his lost child. They are emotional to see loved ones, friends and neighbours lined up the village to pay their respects and with Harriet Finch leading the way, they walk to the church where they will say their goodbyes.

The scenes are set to be devastating but can the broken parents get through this and the trauma that remains beyond? With Paddy having bottled up his own grief, will it soon manifest itself and cause a rift between him and Chas?
They need each other now more than ever – but they have a long and difficult journey ahead of them to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday 25th October at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
