Its been a long time coming and fans have been calling for it for almost two decades but Kim Tate is finally returning to Emmerdale – and she will unleash her revenge on Home Farm in a dramatic series of episodes that will leave the villagers reeling.
Last seen boarding a helicopter after leaving stepson Chris Tate for dead, Kim is the definition of soap superbitch. One of the Dales most legendary ever characters, she arrives back during the Home Farm masquerade ball and means business – with chaos following soon after.
Claire King is reprising her much loved role for a short but very eventful stint in the soap. Confirmed as the woman behind the mask in the recent trailer, Kim is gunning for several people – and we know what happens to people who cross this iconic villain!
Claire, also known for roles in Coronation Street and Bad Girls, said: As a Yorkshire lass myself, Im absolutely thrilled to be back in Yorkshire for a fun-filled cameo, once again reaping havoc in the Dales! As there are still some familiar faces from 20 years ago its felt like coming home and I couldnt have had a more lovely welcome from such a talented cast and crew, so thank you everyone! Its literally been a blast!

Producer Kate Brooks enthused: Kim Tate is such a hurricane of a character, notorious for wreaking havoc wherever she goes. Kims explosive return shakes the very foundations of the village as she swaggers back into Home Farm, leaving a devastating trail of destruction in her wake.
We are delighted to welcome Claire back to the show; an actor exuding charisma and ebullience. It is testament to Claires immense talent that her portrayal of such an iconic soap villain is so convincing. We are all absolutely thrilled that shes filling Kim Tates designer shoes once again.
Literally a blast? We reckon that is a dark omen for what could be ahead for Kims enemies – presumably Joe, son to Kims late arch enemy Chris, should be very unnerved by her arrival.
And lets not forget that this particular week of October has often seen an Emmerdale favourite lose their life.
Kims return will air in a blockbuster week of episodes in the middle of October.
