Emmerdale airs the final scenes of Ross Barton tonight – but will he get the happy ending that he craves or will he be leaving the village alone without Rebecca White, who has chosen to keep her son close to Robert and Aaron?
Rebecca was initially prepared to take Robert to court for a custody battle but after realising the impact on her son if they were all fighting, she realised that she had to give up her own chance of a happy future with Ross.
Ross wasnt able to stay in the village any longer – this is the place where his brother Finn and dad James died and he fell victim to an acid attack – so he broke the news to a heartbroken Rebecca that he is going alone.
The storyline brings an end to Mike Parrs tenure in the soap but the outcome for Emily Heads character Rebecca remains less certain. Her heart wants to go with Ross but practically, there is a lot standing in her way.

As Ross says emotional goodbyes to Moira and Pete, he prepares to head off for his new life. But will Rebecca have a last minute change of heart – and, if so, will she be taking Seb with her?
Or will she decide to stay put in the village and say goodbye to her future with Ross?
Mike shared: Hed be gutted if Rebecca stayed behind. He wants to play happy families. Its a massive opportunity for him to turn away from his bad boy ways and go clean and straight. Hed like to do that with the girl that he loves.
On saying goodbye to the show, he added: Ive had the best five years here. The opportunities that this job has given me to see the world, and help friends and family, have been amazing. Im going to take the plunge and become a desperate dole-y actor again but hopefully I can come back and do a little bit more. If I get killed off-screen, youll know Ive annoyed somebody somewhere!
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Friday 2nd November at 7pm on ITV.
