ESPN inked a major deal with the UFC Tuesday to air fights from the popular MMA league.

Most of the details arent known yet, but the Hollywood Reporter stated the following:

The worlds biggest mixed martial arts organization and Disneys new direct-to-consumer and international division and ESPN on Tuesday unveiled their exclusive distribution pact that will see live UFC content also appear on ESPNs TV, social and digital platforms, in English and Spanish.

ESPN reporter Darren Rovell added, “JUST IN: ESPN signs deal with UFC, will deliver 15 full 12-bout cards on ESPN+ starting in 2019.”

This is such a smart move for ESPN. The company has finally done something good. ESPN is going down in a ball of flames, but the UFC is shooting up.

The UFCs fanbase is also getting huge. Five years ago, I barely knew anybody that liked the UFC. I didnt even watch it. Now, pretty much everybody I know is interested in the UFC. Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor did incredible things for the brand.

ESPN must be betting that the UFC will only continue to get bigger and bigger. I dont disagree. I think UFC president Dana White is a genius, and the brand will only keep getting stronger.
