In dramatic scenes this week, cruel loan shark Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) has taken Gary (Mikey North) hostage on Coronation Street, beaten him up, and threatened Bethany (Lucy Fallon) and Sarah (Tina OBrien) to boot!

Thankfully, we know Gary somehow gets out of his hostage situation alive, and next weeks photos seem to show Sarah looking healthy and well.

However, just as Garys life seems to be taking a positive turn, with Sarah seemingly about to give things another go, is it all set to crumble around him with the reveal that he is the culprit for the factory roof collapse?

Corrie bosses have revealed three suspects for the roof collapse.

We know Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is in the frame, with his motive being insurance money to solve his money troubles.

The second culprit is Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill), who may have got his hands dirty to get revenge against Carla Connor (Alison King) who he blames for his breakup with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).

But Gary has also been thrown into the mix, accused of doing shoddy work on the roof so that hed be called in again to make the repairs and earn himself more dosh.

While we wait with baited breath to find out whether or not he could be the true culprit, heres a closer look at Gary Windass past.

Gary Windass past storylines on Coronation Street

Ex-Soldier Gary Windass has been appearing on Corrie since 2008.

Since then hes had serious relationships with Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston), Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), and, most recently, Sarah Platt.

His time in the army was cut short when, after suffering PTSD as a result of an ambush in Afghanistan, Gary assaulted a police officer and was dismissed from the army as a result.

Gary has found himself on the wrong side of the law on more than one occasion, having in the past spent two months in prison, arranged for someone to beat up David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and once even attempted to rob Roys Rolls in a moment of desperation.

With Gary soon to add stealing passports from Rick to his list of misdeeds, could Gary really be capable of fudging his work on the roof for his own personal gain?
