Nicolas Cage has revealed he is keen to play Superman villain Lex Luthor – especially as his chance to play the Man Of Steel has long gone.
Superman has been one of the biggest superhero characters for decades, and on screen he has teamed up Batman and gone into battle for one epic movie with the Justice League.
But Cage was once just three short weeks from playing Clark Kent in a film called Superman Lives that was abruptly pulled from production, the details of which little is known.
A fan campaign to get Cage back in the spandex has picked up steam in recent months but Cage has now claimed that his Superman days are long gone.
In an interview with The Guardian, the actor reportedly then gave a little pat of his belly before adding of possibly being a villain: Oh, that would be GREAT! Id make a great Lex Luthor!

The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened? is a documentary directed by Jon Schnepp that dives deep into the mythology surrounding the film and tries to get to the bottom of the films infamous cancellation; aspects of the plot made their way on to the big screen in 2006s Superman Returns and 2016s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Cage however technically has played Supes, as he voiced the character in the Teen Titans film, which also starred Halsey as Amazon princess Wonder Woman and rapper Lil Yachty as Green Lantern.
