Raffy (Olivia Deeble) and Mason (Orpheus Pledger) have been secretly working on extracting CBD oil in an effort to manage her epilepsy, but things are about to take a worrying turn when Raffy gets carried away with her dosages. Aware that Tori (Penny McNamee) and Justin (James Stewart) dont approve of the treatment option, believing Raffy should stick to her medication and wait to see improvements with that, Mason and Raffy have been secretly extracting the oil in the garage, telling Justin that theyre working on a science project whenever he comes to see what theyre up to.
With Raffys first dose of CBD oil having a hugely positive effect, she decides she doesnt have to follow Masons advice of taking just a drop a day, and starts to grab more when he leaves the room. She has a secret second dose of oil, and feels confident about her maths exam.

But this doesnt last long when she begins to feel dizzy and queasy upon arriving at school, causing her boyfriend Ryder (Lukas Radovich) to become concerned for her wellbeing. He offers to call Tori or Justin for help, but Raffy is insistent that he calls Mason instead.
Mason rushes to the school and sends Ryder away to get a glass of water. The pair have been closely monitoring her CBD oil dosage, with Raffy entering diary entries on a regular basis in order to see how the treatment affects her mentally and physically. Before starting the dosages, Mason had made Raffy promise to contact him if she felt strange in any way, so he initially wonders if its the standard dosage which is having negative side effects. However, once Ryder is out of earshot, she admits that she took a second dose of the oil behind his back.
Mason is furious that she took the medicine into her own hands, and tells her she could have put herself into serious danger. When Maggie (Kestie Morassi) arrives, Mason says he has the situation under control and will take Raffy home while Ryder sits his exam. Even though Raffy apologises for her mistake, Mason decides to stop the treatment altogether, using the reasoning that she cant be trusted to follow the rules properly.
