Brody (Jackson Heywood) and Simone (Emily Eskell) have been trying to leave Summer Bay and move to Yabbie Creek so they can start the next chapter of their lives together, but their application for a rental has been rejected, and theyre both in the dark as to why. Maggie (Kestie Morassi) has hinted that Simone needs to look further into Brodys past to find the answer, leaving her confused.
When Simone goes to apologise to Maggie for snapping at her, she questions what she meant when she asked her how well she knew Brody. After Simone says she does know Brody really well, Maggie lets her know that she really doesnt.
Meanwhile, Brody discovers that the rental application was rejected due to his criminal record. Mason (Orpheus Pledger) is surprised to learn about Brodys intentions to move out, and shocked that Simone doesnt know about his previous addiction. Brody avoid Simones attempts to contact him while he figures out how to handle the situation.
He speaks to Tori (Penny McNamee), saying that he fears he will lose Simone for good once she knows the truth. While Tori is sympathetic, she tells him that his secret is too big to keep from her. Brody hates the idea of Simone seeing him as an addict, but Tori says that if they love each other the way he says they do, Simone will accept him regardless.

Brody makes the difficult decision to tell Simone everything, and she is shaken. She asks for space to process the news. Tori finds her, deep in thought, and tells her that she doesnt believe Brody will ever go down such a dark path again. However, Simone is struggling with the fact that he hid the truth from her.
