Quentin Tarantino is a true pro at shock and gore – the ear-cutting scene in Reservoir Dogs, anyone?
So the fact that he cried watching the upcoming horror film Suspiria says a lot about how gruesome it is.
The director of the Suspiria remake, Luca Guadagnino, has revealed that his pal Tarantino cried after watching the movie at his house.
Call Me By Your Name director Guadagnino told Italian magazine La Pepubblica: I showed it to Quentin Tarantino. Weve been friends since our jury duty at the Venice Film Festival.
I was nervous but eager to hear his advice. We saw it at his place and his reaction warmed me.
He was enthusiastic about it – in the end, he was crying and hugged me. Because its a horror movie but also a melodrama, my goal was to make you look at the horror without being able to take [your eyes off the screen] because youre captivated by the characters.

Suspiria is less of a remake, more of a homage to Dario Argentos 1977 horror cult classic, which starred Jessica Harper as an American ballet dancer who joins a dance academy in Berlin, only to discover something far more sinister awaiting her.
Harper plays a different role in the new version, with Fifty Shades actress Dakota Johnson playing the leading role of Susie Bannion and Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth and Chloe Moretz joining the cast.

The blurb for the film is as follows: A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupes artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist.
Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
The first footage from Suspiria was shown at CinemaCon, and to say that people were disturbed is an understatement:
