Star Wars fans are about to see one of the franchises best loved films – Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back – get an orchestral makeover.

The 1980 film is set to head across the country in a series of special screenings at arenas, accompanied by a live orchestra performing John Williams score.

Its set to take in cities including Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham in September and October – meaning you can get to see Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in all their big-screen glory.

But when do tickets go on sale and how can you be there?

When is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back going on tour?

The performances, featuring the Novello Orchestra with conductor David Mahoney, are as follows:

  • Friday 27 Sep Manchester Arena
  • Saturday 28 Sep Leeds First Direct Arena
  • Sunday 29 Sep Glasgow SEC Armadillo
  • Tuesday 1 Oct Birmingham Arena
  • Wednesday 2 Oct Liverpool Arena

There will also be screenings at Londons Royal Albert Hall from Saturday 21-Monday 23 September, with matinee performances on the Saturday and Sunday.

When do tickets go on sale and how much do they cost?

Tickets start at £29.50, with others costing £42.50, £49.50 and £52.50, with the top price tickets £65.

Presale for venues, Disney tickets and Ticketmaster begin on Wednesday 3 April.

General sale tickets are on sale on 5 April via Ticketmaster.
