Former Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer said Tuesday NFL owners are too “scared” and “uneducated” to sign Colin Kaepernick.

“I don’t think so. I think that they’re all scared and that they’re uneducated on him as a person and what he wants to do,” the 43-year-old former QB told reporter Nick Jhabvala about possible quarterback fits in Denver and whether he thought any team would give Kaepernick a chance to play.

“I don’t know if he wants to play for organizations run by scared, kind of bigoted people that don’t understand what it’s like to be in the shoes of someone like him and to see the things he’s seen and relate to the people that go through the atrocities of what everyday people deal with,” he added.

“I don’t know. I hope someone does,” he continued. “I would really love it because I love watching him play. I would love to see him come here [to Denver] but I’m not sure if they would do that.”

Broncos general manager John Elway previously stated that Kaepernick was not being blackballed by owners, but declined to say whether he thought the former 49er could still play.

WATCH:

In October, Kaepernick filed a grievance case against the NFL alleging the league and team owners colluded to keep him out of the league following his national anthem protest in 2016.
