Joaquin Phoenix is certainly being put through his paces while filming The Joker.
The Hollywood actor was seen making a mad dash for his life on-set of the anticipated spin-off movie this week and, frankly, it looked pretty terrifying.
Well, imagine seeing that clown face chasing you on a Dark Knight – pun definitely intended.
Fully clad in his Joker costume, Joaquin, 44, got to work and bolted through a New York City street for a night scene and, of course, it looked like Batmans nemesis was up to no good.
With his face in The Jokers trademark clown makeup, Joaquin wore a yellow waistcoat with a white shirt and brown slacks, while carrying a tartan shopping bag any traditional granny would be proud of.
Most of the bags contents arent visible but a neon green wig can be seen sticking out of the top so we can only imagine the mischief The Joker will be getting up to in the forthcoming movie.

In another scene during the day, Joaquin was seen in the same costume but wearing a bright red jacket while smoking a cigarette and chatting intently with the production crew.
Since filming began in September, Joaquin has been spotted filming various scenes around New York, giving fans tantalising teasers of whats to come.
Earlier this week, Joaquin was spied doing more running while his co-stars, Shea Whigham and Bill Camp, chased hot on his trail.
We predict a lot of running in the upcoming sequel.
As he tried to flee the police officers (Shea and Bill), Joaquin flung himself over a car bonnet but, needless to say, fans will have to wait and see if hes captured or narrowly manages to escape.
While we are loving the teaser snaps from set, The Jokers director Todd Phillips, isnt best pleased to say the least.
Alongside some of his own photos from behind the scenes, the filmmaker recently posted on Instagram: Heres the issue. We have paparazzi all over our set, at every turn. And it bums me out that they constantly put out their bad shots.

So I figure, may as well put out some good ones.
