Joaquin Phoenix makes for a suitably creepy Joker in full makeup and costume.
His job here is done.
The actor has been snapped in his unsettling character filming in a Brooklyn subway station casually lighting a cigarette as he left what is most probably the scene of some kind of crime or anarchy.
The actor was in full makeup and garb as Batmans adversary as he strolled through the station. In a clip accompanying the photos, police officers flew past the Joker to whatever chaos hes just created. And he looks frighteningly pleased with his handiwork.
Also in the footage, one eager officer took an unfortunate tumble and seemingly hurt his hamstring, leading the scene had to be reshot.
The film, directed by Todd Phillips, is thought to take place in Gotham City in the 1980s and will be an origins story, as we find out more about the man behind the character, Arthur Fleck.
