K-Pop entertainment company YG Entertainment have confirmed that BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and Taeyang are both preparing to receive their draft notice.
‘G-Dragon and Taeyang are waiting for their draft notices for active-duty service,’ confirmed the company.
The pair, both 29, will become the second and third members of BIGBANG to begin their military service; their band member T.O.P is currently serving as a public service worker after he pleaded guilty to marijuana usage charges during his mandated service as a police officer.
He received two years of probation, with a possibility of ten months jail time if he violates any terms, but at a second court hearing he was sentenced to 10 months in prison suspended for two years.
Conscription in South Korea has existed since 1957 and requires all male citizens to perform about two years of compulsory military service.
South Korean men can be called on to serve at any point between the ages of 18 and 35.
Tae-Yang recently married actress Min Hyo Rin after four years together at a church in the Gyeonggi Province of Seoul.
The couple’s reception was held at Paradise City Hotel in Incheon, which looked like a fairytale thanks to the lights and flowers adorning the venue. And that’s no surprise considering it was designed by Youngsong Martin – known for creating the forest wedding scene between Twilight’s Bella and Edward in Breaking Dawn.
