With the dark nights closing in and fueling those festival blues, Live At Leeds have announced their first headlining acts for next year – reminding us all that summer will be back before we know it.

From the likes of Sundara Karma and Tom Grennan set to take the stage, it appears 2019s weekender will strive to be bigger than ever.

Joining the indie legends will be the electronic noughties group Metronomy, who will be bringing their iconic funk tracks to the city.

Since forming back in the 90s, the band have put out five studio albums, and are sure to pull out some of their feel good anthems from the past and present.

The indie rock band formed in Birmingham back in 2011 and swept the scene with their cosmic tracks.

Since then they have gone on to release two studio albums, featuring the tracks Namaste, The Sea and Honey.

They will be joined by the Brighton four-piece Black Honey, who will bring their disco stomp to the party in a sea of velvet and suede.

The psychedelic rockers are fronted by Izzy B. Phillips who is a mix of Madonna, Blonde and Patty Smith all rolled into one.

Looking ahead to Live At Leeds, Festival Director Andy Smith said: Its really good to see breakthrough artists coming back for 2019, both Sundara Karma and Tom Grennan cut their teeth at the event making their first appearances in 2016 and 17 respectively.

Theyve both had a great few years, selling out Leeds Academy and enjoying critical acclaim since their last LAL appearances; its amazing to welcome them back topping the bill.

He added: We see Metronomy return to Leeds for the first time since 2014, which will be a personal highlight, and local talent is represented well with Leeds men of the moment Marsicans leading the regional names.
